About Us
Have A Heart, Inc opened our doors in 1994, originally offering only children’s respite services. Since then, we have expanded to include services for adults as well, adding weekend respite for children and adults, personal and supportive home care, adult family home placement, and an adult day program. Our mission is to provide relief for families with physically and/or developmentally disabled loved ones, with a primary goal of delaying or preventing out-of-home placement. Our programming uses a social and recreational model to provide an opportunity for increased independence with daily living skills and decision making. We pride ourselves in providing a flexible, comfortable environment for clients to grow their skills. We are fully certified and licensed by the state of Wisconsin, and maintain full compliance with all state rules, regulations, and guidelines. In addition, our supportive and highly trained staff creates individual service plans to meet specific needs or challenges for each client. Have A Heart, Inc is unique in that we are a not-for-profit organization governed by a board of directors. This allows for a focus on client cares and program growth, rather than profit.
Recently, we are excited to announce the expansion of our Adult Respite program! With a newly renovated space at the main Have A Heart property, we can now offer nearly twice as many spaces for adults, and have effectively eliminated our waiting list. Contact us now for more details.
